Joint Commission and NQF recently announced the alignment of the two lists, reducing duplication in safety event reporting. Joint Commission will adopt the updated SRE List as part of the Sentinel Events List effective January 1, 2027. A newly published report introduces key updates to the SRE List to reflect today’s care settings. This update, the first since 2011, was developed through a rigorous, consensus-based process with input from more than 60 experts and the public. During this webinar, NQF will discuss the impact of the updates and how the report can support improved identification and reporting of SREs.
