2025 Top Hospitals and Surgery Center Announced 

Pennsylvania’s Hospitals and Surgery Center Named Top Hospitals and Top ASC by The Leapfrog Group 

Lehigh Valley Business Coalition on Healthcare (LVBCH) congratulates the 12 hospitals and one ambulatory surgery center in Pennsylvania receiving an elite national award for excellence in health care quality and safety from The Leapfrog Group today. LVBCH serves as the designated Regional Leader for Leapfrog, a national watchdog organization of employers and other purchasers focused on health care safety and quality, which will honor the 2025 Top Hospital Award and Top Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Award winners as part of its Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner tonight. This national recognition is one of the most competitive honors U.S. hospitals and ASCs can earn for excellence in patient safety and quality of care.

Recognized facilities in Pennsylvania are as follows:

  • Top Children’s Hospital Award recipient – UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh
  • Top General Hospital Award recipients – Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center & UPMC Carlisle
  • Top Rural Hospital Award recipient – St. Luke’s Monroe campus
  • Top Teaching Hospital Award recipients – Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital, Jefferson Frankford, Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, St. Luke’s Hospital – Easton Campus, St. Luke’s Hospital – Allentown Campus, St. Luke’s Sacred Heart Campus, St. Luke’s University Hospital – Bethlehem Campus, Wellspan York Hospital
  • Top Ambulatory Surgery Center Award recipient – Allegheny Health Network Endoscopy Center Westmoreland

Nationally, a total of 156 hospitals were selected as Top Hospitals, including 15 Top Children’s Hospitals, 52 Top General Hospitals, 16 Top Rural Hospitals and 73 Top Teaching Hospitals. A total of 37 ASCs were selected as Top ASCs.
